A week in Cornwall begins here...
Looking towards Newlyn from Penzance
The famous Jubilee swimming pool, plans are in place for a full refurb this year
St Michaels Mount from Penzance
A quick scout in the small rock pools by the Jubilee pool and I'd found this little fella
The tide was out in Penzance Harbour
A shot through the harbour entrance looking towards St Michaels Mount
On the road, Cornwall is full of roads like this, had to stop to take this, such a beautiful place
steps outside the Minack Theatre, I didn't go inside, but I'd recommend a visit
Porthcurno bay
No introduction needed here..
nice cliff faces for sea birds..
probably just me, but the only one I could think of was Cliff Richard! :)
friendly seagulls always scrounging...
The beach at Sennen, I spent plenty of time down here as a kid in the rock pools
One thing that has always fascinated me about Cornwall are the Tin Mines..
couldn't resist stopping the car for this shot..
I think this was Perranporth...
Lizard Point..
the harbour at Porthleven..
this is a very picturesque cove..
I've never seen a swan in the sea before
nice golden beach down at Praa Sands
they even had a few rock pools for me to explore (again!)
a local girl dropped down to the beach at the end of the day to give her horse a run, I'm sure the horse loved it, well it certainly looked to be having fun!
tide out at the harbour in Mousehole
lovely friendly lady cat who I shared my fresh Cornish Hake (fish) & chips with in Mousehole...
Cornmorants drying their feathers in Penzance
tide in at Penzance Harbour this time
St Michaels Mount at full zoom on the walk from Penzance to Marizion
looking back towards Penzance from Marizion
I'd pictured in my head this shot of St Michaels Mount, it came out quite well..
another quick spot of rockpooling.... can you see the tiny crab in there?
this fella was not so tiny and showed me what he could do if you were not paying attention while handling him!!!
friendly Damsel fly hitched a lift
and a ladybird said hello whilst I was enjoying a pint in the sun
saw a lonesome Oystercatcher on the way back to Penzance
Wow, Screech Owl Sanctuary, what a place, I could have spent all week here...
gorgeous Siberian Eagle Owl
European Eagle Owl - largest owl, they are massive!!
loads of other owls down here..
they'd just had three of these guys arrive an hour before our visit and all the owls were wanting to know what they were.....
flying displays included a Kestrel, one of my favourite birds and I managed get some great shots of her flying towards me....
I was also lucky enough to fly this guy myself.....
more shots of tin mines.. they are all over the place down here...
I think this one was particularly good....
a view from the cliffs at Pendeen lighthouse..
this is supposed to be one of the oldest pubs in Penzance, of course I had to go in! I was actually given a guided tour around the whole pub by a very friendly regular, most interesting.
Newlyn by night
had to visit the Eden Project, this place is very interesting and they do so much good, give it a visit if you get chance....
this guy is made of junk, see the next photo for more detail...
the photo doesn't do this art piece justice, it's actually about 30 feet tall
managed to snap this Rook having a kip in a carpark in Hayle
a few Shelducks in the estuary at Hayle
along with some Swans
and a Little Egret
caught this Grey Heron on the reserve near Marizion
and this Canada Goose family
loads of wild rabbits too
this is only a small selection of the photo's I took, it would take me a week to put them all on here and I'm sure I would have bored everyone to death by then...
